Part one of my photos from a recent trip to visit Justin in his new home in Marshfield. It would be hard to imagine a more idyllic piece of American countryside than the little Vermont town where he landed to pursue work at the Marshfield School of Weaving. I was obsessed with the blankets on my bed! Justin’s boss and mentor Kate hand wove them, along with all the dish towels and napkins in the house, and Alex and I appreciated the extra layers during those north country winter nights!

a trail left by visitors in this forgotten mill
in winter, one has the company of a certain gregarious star to keep cheered
everything is more beautiful under snow
I’m fond of gray but I can never remember the proper US spelling of the word.
