The grayness of the days

Call me crazy, but I actually love gray winter days in Rhode Island.  There is a richness to the subtleties of color and texture that you can’t see when the sun is blazing and the grass is growing.  This is the time of year that I love going for a brisk walk in the cold, and then curling up with a cup of tea and a beautiful book to find inspiration in other photographers and designers and the way that they see the world around them.  Three books that have hit the spot lately: Uta Barth’s The Long Now, Annie Leibovitz’ Pilgrimage, and a catalogue/book from a contemporary home design and art gallery in Toronto, Mjölk.
