I promised a bit more about the printing of Fly Rails and Flying Jibs, so here it is: a VERY ad-hoc look at how a printing press works, taken with my little Canon Powershot and edited in iMovie. It’s my first completed video, guys! Big moment.
A few photos from New Orleans, where I spent last week on the Emmanuel Church Annual Mission trip. They have been going every year since Katrina to do volunteer work, and this year I jumped at the chance to fill some of my post-book-job-transition time with good works, kind people and an incredible, vibrant and welcoming city.
Today is the first day of printing Fly Rails and Flying Jibs; Coasting Schooner Photographs by Robert H.I. Goddard at Meridian Printing in East Greenwich, RI. Images selected and edited by Thomas P.I. Goddard and Caroline Hazard Goddard with interpretive captions by Douglas K. and Linda J. Lee. Mystic Seaport Press, 2011. The book will be available on Memorial day. More to come later!
